Spring is in the air. . .oh wait, that was 5 minutes ago. . .now we are plummeting towards a low of 23 degrees!  Regardless, you can’t pick up a magazine or catalog or go into a store without a splash of Spring reminding you that Winter may come to an end after all. . .sometime before the heat hits in June/July, that is!  (HA!)

So in the spirit of bringing on Spring, I wanted to let you all know that TCC is hosting a session for prospective organic gardeners on Saturday at their Northeast Campus.  Anyone who wants to get an early start on organic planting should plan to attend.  It will be a half-day seminar (9am to 12noon) that will focus on growing a garden without pesticides or fungicides.  The seminar will be presented by Sue Gray, an Oklahoma State University horticultrurist.  The cost is $7, if pre-registered and $10, the morning of the event.

In addition to Sue Gray’s presentation, which will focus on how to use organic matter to enrich soil; Carol Eames will also speak about butterfly gardening, a good way to control the “bad bugs” in your garden.
