This is not one of my typical organizing blogs.  Instead I am going to “share” and probably give you way too much information!!! Here’s the deal for the past six to eight months I have been gaining weight around my middle which is normal for a 42 year old who does not do any sit-ups!  I try to walk when the weather is nice but I am not an avid exerciser nor will I ever be.  I have some DVD’s, hand weights and yes there is always the Health and Fitness channel on demand but I would rather do 100 other different things.  I tell myself that I get exercise when I am organizing and moving things but I could improve my exercise routine as well but it’s not going to happen this week or next week.

I have been irritable, short, bloated, gassy (sorry) and I haven’t had my usual energy.  Yes it could be do the season, the weather, stress, and a million other things.  I am not sick but I am definitely not 100%.  I have been reading my magazines on health, reading articles online and seen a few commercials about “detoxing”.  I have been thinking and thinking and thinking and finally I went to Sam’s Club this weekend and purchased “Jillian Michaels Total Body Detox and Cleanse”, $20 with a money back guarantee.  It’s a win/win.

The first week is the detoxing and the second week is the energizing part of it.  I am combining several different types of detoxing and making it my own.  I am going to eat what I suppose to for one week (fruits and vegetables, brown rice, nuts, protein drinks, green tea and water) and then the second week, eat really healthy.

While I was at Sam’s I bought watermelon, strawberries, blackberries, pineapple, raspberries, mixed lettuce greens, and cherry tomatoes. After my trip to Sam’s I headed over to Whole Foods to get pumpkin seeds, raw almonds, flax seed, raw sunflower seeds and my oh so yummy Whey Protein Vanilla drink. NOT!!   Everything I have read seems to state that you need to eat fruits and vegetables, brown rice (after a day or two), nuts and Whey Protein Drinks along with lots of water and green tea.  That means no Diet Coke, no coffee and NO glass of wine at night for one week!!!  Hello!  That is going to be the hardest part of me.

I am a snacker, not during the day but after 3:00 p.m. until I go to bed I love to eat.  I realize my faults but I do normally eat pretty healthy.  It seems to have gotten worse before the holiday season and just has snow balled into a continuation of eating junk all the time.  It’s kind of like organizing, things start to pile up and the piles get bigger and so tackling the pile becomes overwhelming.

From the articles I read, the first couple of days are the hardest and then by day three you have more energy and feel much better.  So instead of writing another blog this week I thought I would update you quickly on the forum how my “detox and cleansing” is going or not going!  BTW I am not a water drinker!!!  This is killing me!

Disclosure, this is something I am trying to improve my health under no circumstances am I suggesting you should follow my routine, please see your doctor first.  I always wanted to say that!
