Good Morning, 918 Moms!  Have you been running? It’s my busy campaign season at work but I’m still in the race.  I’m taking it one day at a time.

Right now, I’m on the road for work and at a hotel almost every night. Today was a NO snooze morning! (What a feat!) I somehow heaved myself out of bed at 4:45am. My President’s Day-queso-covered-guilt shoved me right out of bed. Oh, and the fact that last night Mini Mom posted on her Facebook status that she “Enjoyed running a nice 10 miles today.” Yes, she’s my Facebook friend. Yes, it’s torture. You should see her pictures.

My hotel room was right on the first floor directly 2 doors down from the fitness center. By 4:55am, I was in the fitness room. These hotel fitness centers usually consist of a treadmill, bike and elliptical. When I got there, to my dismay, it was full. I asked the guy on the treadmill how much longer he had to go. I expected him to say 20 minutes or less. I thought I would just lift weights while I waited my turn. That would still give me enough time to get ready. Instead, he said 50 minutes! The possessive clinch of his fists as I spoke to him told me that there was “No way you’re getting’ on here, old lady!”

Really? Wow.

Ever heard of sharing? There should be some kind of etiquette rule about that. If someone is waiting and there is only ONE treadmill, limit your time to 20 minutes. Defeated, I headed back to my room. Luckily, I know that my hotel in the next town has a gym. I’ll have to run tonight!
