A recent interview given by Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas raises a interesting topic...

In the July issue of Cosmopolitan UK she says her career is her baby right now and doesn't want kids to run her focus.

That's the question to the working moms in the 918... did having kids "cloud" your career focus?

Did having kids "cloud" my career focus? YES, YES, YES, YES!!! And, I wouldn't have it any other way!!!!! They are my career now and I'm blessed to have such great coworkers.

I hope Fergie doesn't have any children until her attitude changes. Children don't need to be subjected to that sort of thinking IMO.

for some people, I suppose it does 'cloud' the focus. For me, what happened was that my priorities were rearranged and I decided that I could always go back to work later. I do understand what she's getting at, though. She is in the prime of her career and she needs to focus on that because having children could alter the course of her life. And it will. But one thing that we have to remember is that it's different for all of us. I am a domestic goddess and chose to stay at home with my children until they're a bit older. But some of my friends would look like this if they stayed home. And that's fine. And there are others, I have some very career-minded sisters in law and they just wear different hats and the children have not deterred their focus at all.
